Alice in Wonderland | Creative

This concept has been several months in the making and now we can finally release the series! It is a modern twist on Alice in Wonderland and its three main characters. Alice, Red Queen, and the White Queen. With our own perspective and twists we added a modern feel to these classical characters. The idea for this shoot came to Isabela in a dream over six months ago. Waking up middle of the night, immediately contacting her first model for Alice that early early morning. It's ironic, because Alice has intricate dreams all the time.

Alice has been having strange dreams since childhood, dreams filled with unusual creatures. She then finds herself in Wonderland in something that feels like a dream within a dream. 

Alice came to a fork in the road. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. Where do you want to go?' responded the Cheshire Cat. 'I don't know,' Alice answered. 'Then,' said the Cat, 'it doesn't matter.”

Red Queen

The Red Queen, is quick to get angry, if things do not go the way she wants them to. She is merciless against her enemies and those who have betrayed her. She is also careless towards animals, as she treats them if they were inanimate objects.

White Queen

The White Queen is the Red Queen's sister, curiously, she lives backwards in time to a degree, due to the fact she lives through the eponymous looking glass. It is against her vows to harm a living creature, but we think she might be more powerful than she lets you believe.

"The Hatter rather likes the White Queen, but she can be as terrifying as her sister when she wants to be."

Tara | Boudoir

Miss Tara, what a funky fun chick she is. This girl is retro, vintage, funky awesome. Using classical props for her boudoir photo session created a soft and elegant feel; antique tea pot & cup, adorable white tea tray, and a glass jar for our lone flower. Perfect complimentary additions to the photo shoot. Tara provided some beautiful pearls that added, as 'they' say, the cherry on top. During the session in between shots she'd bust some moves to the music we had playing, so we decided at the end of our session to have some fun in her last outfit. :) You'll see what we mean...

Derk Family | Lifestyle

We loved photographing the Derk family. Beautiful home, family, & children. The props for this family session were tailored as a travel theme because several days after the photo shoot they were whisking off to Disneyland. The kids were SO excited to go that they packed their little suitcases weeks in advance. How cute is that?! 

Twins | Kids Portrait

These twin boys are beyond adorable. We were lucky enough to photograph them to test out our new lighting equipment while we were in Calgary. Thanks Paulina for letting us photograph your beautiful twins! <3 We had so much fun with them, they apparently are fascinated with blondes, it was a good thing one of us has dyed blonde hair. haha! As you'd imagine, they had a lot of energy and gave us some pretty funny jumping shots. By the end they were getting a little sleepy, little munchkins. 

Melissa | Boudoir

This lovely miss made her boyfriend very happy. She not only rocked her boudoir session but also beautifully scrap-booked her session and presented it to her boyfriend on the evening of Valentines Day. What an amazing gift! She went as far as to consider her boyfriends favourite NHL team, the Edmonton Oilers, by wearing his favourite players jersey. What a beautiful gift, girl, and one lucky guy!

Wedding Shoot | Hotel Arts Calgary

How beautifully this wedding session went cannot be expressed. It was a sunny drive the whole way from Edmonton to Calgary, we may have even gotten a tan from the sunroof. ;) Our model bride turned out to be a ballerina and her dress seemed to fit her and her personality just so perfectly. Her model groom, is her real life boyfriend. What a gentleman he is. Sporting such a sharp grey suit to compliment his beautiful girl. We were lucky enough to stay the night at the Art Hotel Calgary, not only do they have a stunning lobby which is where this session was photographed, but their rooms are amazing as well.

Isabela who is a Photoshop wiz; graduated with Applied Photography in 2007 and since then has been challenging and perfecting her skills creatively and technically. 

Nadia who has been running on raw talent with photography and art since 2009, brings a creative and artistic perspective to the shoots. Between the two partners of Blanche Studios there is 9 years of photography experience.

We want to do more than just an image, we want to provide a print of your true-self. Your laughter, your smile, your glance, your modesty, or perhaps lack of modesty. It's the small details that make up the big picture, we know this, and want to capture all those small details for you.

Corporate Session with a Twist

This client of ours wanted something a little different in their corporate head shots. On top of the standard professional shots, we also used props to create a different type of image, that was a fun portion of the photo shoot! Greatest prop goes to = the fluffy red poodle. 

Images will be used on their website and marketing materials.

My Best Friend | Pets

Our furry best friends photo shoot was amazing. Some of the pups are a little more camera shy than others ;) but over all these angels were great models for us. Everyone of them has their own personality that you can see in the photographs. 

Rock The Dress | Wedding

After seven years of marriage, Tara decided she wanted to put her wedding dress back on and rock it once again. What a fun way to bring back the memories and we also created some new ones! Including, our stuntmen BMX'ers.
