Knights Cabin | Portraits

"You say I dream too big, I say you think too small".

When you first meet someone, as you're speaking to them, you're looking at them, getting to know them, and very quickly developing an impression. Well, when we first met Lisa Belanger, we were blown away by her passion, motivation, and dreams. She's truly a beautiful, inspirational, whole hearted human being.

Lisa, is a PhD student at the University of Alberta. Weekly, she works with cancer patients and survivors as part of ongoing research into how exercise can make them feel better and live longer. She is a co-author of two books, and she is working extremely hard on her current venture, a cancer retreat in the Alberta Rocky Mountains Knight's Cabin

What is Knight's Cabin you ask?
"Knight’s cabin will be a cancer retreat in the Rocky Mountains. It will be a place where cancer survivors can go to relax and recharge with the help of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Against the backdrop of mountains, trees, lakes and wildlife, individuals will be given time to heal both mentally and physically so as to begin the daunting yet empowering process of survivorship on the right foot." www.knightscabin.com
We are so happy Lisa asked us to photograph her, as she was in need of some (wicked) portraits for her current venture of raising funds for Knight's Cabin. Her current "toonie drive" is a crowd sourced fundraiser aimed at collecting $2 million in "toonies" to create a cancer retreat in Alberta's Rocky Mountains. Visit www.knightscabin.com for more information & to contribute.

This girl probably has never seen so many toonies in her life! Next time you see a toonie in your wallet, think of Knight's Cabin, and how you can help.

Lisa, we know you will never look at a toonie the same again, we are with you on that. <3
